I am a behavioral ecologist with strong interdisciplinary training in animal behavior, ecology, and evolutionary biology. I will finish my Ph.D. on mate choice and parental investment in the house wren (Troglodytes aedon) in August 2008.

I am passionate about teaching undergraduates. I became a scientist in large part because of the amazing professors and wonderful research experiences I had as an undergraduate at Calvin College. Now I strive to help my own students experience the wonder and excitement inherent in the study of science.
